Hey Y’all! Welcome to my blog! I hope to share with you our journey as we renovated our classic brick ranch over the course of 14 months without a contractor. Yep, you read that correctly! My husband and I did it all ourselves!! It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears (mostly mine!), YouTube how-to videos and good old fashioned elbow grease, but we managed to turn a hoarder’s haven into our dream home. I’ll take you through our process one room at a time and share with you a few tips that will hopefully make you want to tackle your own renovation!
Here are a few highlights of the “Before” pictures:
Our Classic Southern Brick Ranch. The main house featured 2200 square feet and included 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, large living room, family room, dining room, kitchen and breakfast nook. It definitely had “good bones” which is what prompted us to buy it despite the horrors within!
“The Green Mile”. This thick, plush greener than green carpet ran through almost every room in the house. The “clean spot” is where furniture had been stacked up. Dust bunnies and piles of animal hair (among other things) covered every exposed surface.
Classic 1960’s kitchen. Roaches as big as my foot and mouse droppings made me question if I’d ever be able to eat anything that came out of this kitchen!!
The Master. More green carpet and lovely pink walls.
