We’ve all seen those chunky wooden headboards from the 60’s and 70’s and thought, what were they thinking?? But when I came across this one, I knew it had potential! The design reminded me of cathedral windows and I knew with a little love, I could bring it back to life. I began by layering soft shades of white, gray and taupe. I was careful to leave little bits of the original color peeking through the paint. Once it was completely painted, I washed it in Annie Sloan “Old White” and sealed it with clear wax. I lightly distressed just around the edges to toughen it up a bit. Once it was finished, I was surprised by how much I liked it. It sold within hours of posting it!
