Furniture Rehab: Kitchen Table & Chairs

For our kitchen, I wanted to continue the French Country feel that was in the rest of the house.  I found this solid oak table on Craiglist and knew with some chalk paint magic, it would be perfect for our breakfast nook!  It came with 4 wooden chairs, but I elected to use 4 from my formal dining room because I wanted the upholstered look.  The previous owner had painted the table top, but I wanted a natural wood finish since I knew the other pieces would be painted.  I sanded off the paint and refinished it with some oak stain and sealed it with a satin poly.  The chairs were painted with a creamy white chalk paint and distressed.  I reupholstered the cushions in a very neutral French-y fabric keeping with my French Country theme and voila!  New to me table & chairs.  Sets similar to this go for over a $1000 new, but my total investment in this set was less than $200.
